Entertainment and creative technology collectively generate $300 billion as pillars of California’s global economy. But a digital shift is underway. Entertainment now comprises not only television, movies and music but gaming, e-sports, and other digital pastimes that attract capital and investment from tech hubs, world-class university labs and, indeed, Hollywood.
